can use?

amnist responds:

yeah man just credit me

portal 2 definitely has lots to contribute to the aggro-tech vibe!

YoriYakuza responds:

Oh yeah, totally. I just wish Valve could count to three when producing games.

the piano tone is very warm and soothing. I think making the strings quiet adds distance, allowing the piano to keep focus and that was a really good idea.
maybe a version with some soft percussion [ think jazz-brushes or a rimshot beat ] would be interesting.

notstrog responds:

Thank you so much, I’ll keep that in mind! I really appreciate it!

everything sounds great, your mixing and compression are all awesome.
there is enough sounds that are different here that it can sound like theres 20+ instruments in the same song, I think thats a bit on the complex side.
the piano also isnt quite strong enough to command attention away from the drums at 2:23.
those are my only complaints great job!

Zeddius responds:

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely try to work on these things to further improve my music.

If not for the breakdown in your description I wouldn't have noticed any of these plugins, nothing wrong with this song. Happy you didn't throw it out! Thanks for sharing and for the detailed breakdown that's always helpful to new producers.

EDIT: Through my monitors it sounds a bit over-compressed but I could be dead wrong.

ADR3-N responds:

It very possibly could be over compressed. I used a quick internet master on my phone and could probably have ticked another notch down on the compressor. Easy fix. I usually don't do house and only have monitor headphones so it's something to get used to haha. Thanks for the review!

Love this. all of your synths were ms20s?
sounds quite chippy.
Very Like.

Syntrus responds:

Or Mini V. Yeah it is kinda chippy in a good way!

Nice sidechaining, I cant get mine to sound remotely that good. Awesome layering and really euphoric pads.

emilyomily responds:

Thanks man. Not sure what DAW you use, but if you use FL Studio I definitely recommend using the Fruity Peak Controller for sidechaining.

wow this is the nicest bit crusher ive heard. Sounds like a clarinet style sound coming from the Famisynth too <3 love chip.

emilyomily responds:

Thanks! I found the bitcrusher from a YouTube vid haha
